LAMB Messianic Fellowship AT SUKKOT

WELCOME

Thanks for planning to celebrate the Biblical Feast of Tabernacles (aka Sukkot) with us. We look forward to worshiping the KING together during HIS appointed festival. The following information is intended to ensure we all have a pleasant and safe event, as this is the “Season of our Rejoicing” and we are to rejoice before our King.  This year we will be celebrating the LORD's appointed times at the Ridgeview Golf Course, outside of Ligonier.

COST

We have decided not to specify a cost this year, but rather trust in YHVH’s provision and your generosity to cover the expenses. We think this a Biblically-supported approach, referencing Deuteronomy 16:16-17  “...They shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God that he has given you.”  Please donate to cover expenses as you are able and led. Don’t let finances prevent you from attending HIS festival. Your Registration helps to ensure we have enough food for the various meals throughout the week.

WHAT TO BRING

Here are some items to bring for your stay or daily visit: Everyone should bring a Bible, notebook, pen/pencil, flashlight, musical instrument(s), chair(s) and jacket. This facility has toilets and showers. People staying overnight should also bring sleepwear, extra clothes, sleeping bag, blankets, mat, towel, pillow, wash cloth and toiletries.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Remember this is a time of rejoicing. Let’s make sure we keep it that way with words of encouragement and topics of discussion that do not provoke controversy and debate. There is plenty of time for those discussions throughout the rest of the year. We are commanded to rejoice at the feast.  Let’s spur each other on to do that every day. We hope you will volunteer your talents during this Feast and be an active participant.

  • Daily Schedule:  Most days the schedule will follow this pattern:  9 AM: Conclude breakfast and have short Morning Devotions;  Noon: Lunch, Singing and Activity;  6 PM: Dinner followed by Evening Devotions. Weather permitting, we plan to have a campfire each night;  “Quiet hours" begin at 10 PM and run through 8 AM.

  • Meal Preparation and Clean-Up:  To distribute the workload, we ask everyone to volunteer to help setup for the community meals and/or clean up after a meal. There will be a meal plan for the entire event.

  • Praise and Worship:  Expect times of singing, praise & worship throughout each day. Some will be planned, but impromptu singing can be most enjoyable. Please bring your instrument.

Children and Youth

Parents are responsible for their children (teens included) at all times. If you are not meeting your responsibility, LAMB leadership may need to get involved and help instruct your child. Except for family members, youth should not be alone in a tent, room or other secluded spot with just one adult. Youth under 18 have an 11:00 P.M. curfew or must be accompanied by a parent or designated adult.

Propriety

This is not just a camping trip, but an appointed time for the Most High GOD. We want it to be honoring and pleasing to YHVH. Everyone should dress appropriately and modestly at all times (see section below on Modesty). Non-family members of the opposite sex should never be off by themselves. Displays of affection between non-married individuals ( e.g. hugging) should be limited and appropriate..

Please be courteous and keep showers to a moderate duration to conserve hot water. Please stay out of the “kitchen area” unless helping to prepare a meal or clean up. For the health and comfort of everyone, smoking/vaping is not allowed near any common area. Please raise safety or “propriety” concerns to LAMB leadership for resolution. During Sukkot, LAMB leadership has the final say in all disputes.

PETS

Please make other arrangements for pets, but if that is not possible, there are a few simple rules. All pets must remain on a leash. Pets are not allowed in the common areas unless fully trained and will not disrupt fellowship or distract worship. You will be responsible for picking up waste from your pet. Additionally, you will be financially responsible for any damage caused by your pet. If your pet continues to be disruptive, you may be asked to remove your pet.

MODESTY

All clothing should be worn so that undergarments are covered. Please, no bare midriffs, open back dresses, or revealing necklines that reveal cleavage. Shorts, dress, and skirt length should be modest. If you are planning on dancing please wear loose fitting pants, or full length skirts, or knee length skirts over leggings that come down well below the bottom of the skirt. Appropriate clothing should be worn to and from bathrooms.
